To be able to defend themselves against extremely powerful hits, experienced knights can utilise the Protector stance. If used, the shielding of the knight will strengthen and the knight will gain an overall damage reduction for a short amount of time. However, as the knight needs to concentrate all his energy on the stance, his attacks and spells suffer a penalty during this time. A knight is versatile, however and can alter quickly between an aggressive and a defensive stance by casting Blood Rage to remove Protector.
Historia
* Prior to the ✨ Updates/12.55|Vocation Adjustments Update, there was no damage reduction and the knight would not be able to attack any opponents while this spell was in effect, nor cast spells. Additionally, you would have to pay 500 gp to switch between this spell and ✨ Blood Rage.
* As announced on {{OfficialNewsArchive|8849|June 16, 2026}}, the ✨ Updates/15.25.3a4a52|Vocation Adjustments Update 2026 reworked the spell, turning it into a ✨ stance.
